If you are looking for world-class bass fishing, you need not go any farther than the Southwest corner of Brevard County. This is where you’ll find over 20,000 acres of the best freshwater angling in all of the United States – the Farm 13, Stick Marsh area. This shallow water impoundment was created by the St Johns River Water Management District in the mid-1980s to hold nutrient-laced runoff from neighboring farms before it reached the river. At the same time, they created a now-famous mecca for all types of freshwater fishing, especially Largemouth Bass.
Largemouth Bass fishing is at its best from December to late April, when the larger females are spawning on their beds. Catches of Bass weighing 15 to 19 pounds have been recorded! All Bass must be released alive. Because of this strict management, catches of more than fifty Bass in a morning’s or afternoon’s fishing is not uncommon.
The Space Coast has positioned itself as one of the premier bass fishing locations in the United States and Palm Bay is the ideal destination for any angler worth his salt when it comes to reeling in Largemouth Bass. But don’t take our word for it, come see for yourself!
